Archita Mandal is a writer, director and producer. Her directorial debut, Untread, is a science fiction thriller short film that was screened at the Women’s International Film & Arts Festival, 2015 and received many other film festival accolades. "Diva Mom Song", a music video with a socially relevant message became a finalist at The Norwegian International Seagull Film Festival. Another experimental short film "Null Hypothesis" was shot and released in 25 days. It was part of a female filmmaker’s challenge and was an official selection at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival. Archita grew up in 4 different countries and calls herself a global citizen. Her life experiences range from the gulf-war to cultural assimilation to developing keen respect for diversity and most of all empathy for people from all walks of life. These are great tools to tell stories that matter and are closest to the heart. She has dual bachelor’s in management information systems and business administration degree from Wayne State University, Michigan and a one-year Executive Education in Corporate Innovation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She heads a technical communication group of writers and video specialist for a fortune 500 cloud security company reporting in to an executive. Archita just wrapped up production of a web series pilot which she wrote, directed and produced, known as “The Nair House”. The Nair House is a 25 mins film about a couple from South Asian descent in the Bay Area, and the changing face of their marriage. The biggest ambition of Archita’s life is to be a good storyteller. Filmmaking makes that dream a reality.
